PDI TECHNICIAN

Congleton Garden Machinery, founded over 31 years ago, is a well-established and expanding local retail business, internationally recognised for selling Parts, Machines and Hiring Horticultural, Farming and Forestry Equipment. We offer more than 750k unique products. Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit a full-time engineer to join our team.

 

PREREQUISITES

· Experience in working on machinery

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To build up machines and equipment ready for customers and the showroom, including handheld garden tools, push lawnmowers, lawn tractors, ATVs and Quads
  • To complete pre delivery inspections on machines and complete the associated paperwork and checklists.
  • To request parts requirements from the Parts Department
  • To carry out regular maintenance (checking fluids, oil changes, etc) on machines
  • To communicate estimated completion dates for all jobs.
  • To support location of machinery and tools in workshop, in-line with CGM safety standards.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

· To work to Health and Safety standards at all times

· To be willing to work to CGM work Standards and see jobs through to the end.

· To provide excellent customer service.

· To be willing to propose ideas for improvements in the workshop ideas.

· To be positive and self-motivated and driven to achieving CGM Targets.

 

PREFERABLE BUT NOT REQUIRED

  • Experience within the farming, garden, automobile, quads industry
  • Fork-lift licence
  • Willingness to flex hours occasionally

PLANT ENGINEER JOB DESCRIPTION

  • To repair, refurbish and service equipment, tools, and machinery.
  • To carry out regular maintenance (checking fluids, oil changes, etc) on machines.
  • To diagnose faults, understand root cause of failure and repair as necessary.
  • To request parts requirements from Parts Department.
  • To Build up equipment including ATVs and Quads, complete pre delivery inspections and complete associated paperwork.
  • To communicate estimated completion dates for all workshop jobs.
  • To support location of machinery and tools in workshop, in-line with CGM safety standards.
