Honda Lawnmowers - one of the world leaders in lawnmower technology.
Honda launched their very first lawnmower in Europe in September 1978. At that time standard 2-stroke technology dominated the market, producing noisy and dirty engines that were difficult to maintain. So to set new standards of performance, reliability and safety, Honda fitted their 53cm lawnmowers with innovative Honda 4-stroke-engines. Honda didn't just focus on the engine, but they built their machines from the wheels up. So today when you look at a Honda lawnmower, irrespective of which part of the machine you are looking at, you can be rest assured that every component on that machine has been developed with the aim to produce a machine that will stand out from its competitors.
Honda offers a wide variety of lawnmowers to meet every customer's needs and expectations -

How to choose a lawnmower?
This is one of the most common questions that a homeowner tends to need help with, there are many factors that come into play in choosing the right machine to suit your specific requirements. With so much currently on offer on the market, most people can find themselves bombarded with too much, technical or specifications data sheets to make the choice even more tricky.
Here at Mowersplus we want to provide you with a basic concept and understanding in choosing the right Honda lawnmower for your gardening requirements.
The first and most important question is - What garden do you have?
The garden layout and the ease of use and level of comfort that you will wish to achieve will certainly give you a good guide in what time of machine to go for. Honda lawnmowers are available as push models or self-propelled, either single speed or with SMART Drive®, Select Drive and Hydrostatic Drive, offering variable speed.
Small & Complex Gardens - A small garden generally falls under 300m², without slopes (<5%) or uneven ground. It may have bushes, trees, flower beds and borders making it complex. A machine that is lightweight with good manoeuvrability would be ideal for this, in this case Honda would reccommend a push model lawnmower.
Medium/Large Complex Gardens - These gardens tend to be complex with an abundance of trees, shrubs, flower beds and paths. The ideal mower for this enviroment would be a self-propelled lawnmower, where you can vary the speed to cut accurately and safely around all the obstacles. Honda recommends a self-propelled lawnmower with SMART Drive® or Select
Medium/Large Open Area Gardens - These gardens have open space areas with some uneven ground and gentle slopes (>5%). There are no confined or closed areas. Again a self-
propelled lawnmower would easliy cope with such an enviroment. Perhaps a single speed self-propelled lawnmower.
Multi-Ground & Multi-Size Gardens - These gardens tend to be a patchwork of different grass areas with medium and large open spaces and a few confined areas. As there are various areas with different layouts a mower that allows you to vary a fixed mowing speed would be ideal. Honda recommends a self-propelled model with Select Drive or Hydrostatic transmission.
The above recommendations are not written in stone, these are just a few basic tips to keep in mind when choosing a lawnmower. Another important factor to think about is the time you want to spend on the lawn.
The lawnmower's blade size effects the time it takes to cut your grass and also how often you need to empty the grassbox. The general rule of thumb is: the bigger the lawn the bigger the blade size required.
